September Dinner Meeting - Hospice 101
Tamitha Shockley, APR is the Director of Development & Communications for Hospice of Spokane, where she guides communications, public relations, fundraising and donor relations. Hospice of Spokane is a community-based, nonprofit organization, which provides medical care, counseling and spiritual support to patients and families dealing with terminal illness throughout northeast Washington.
Tamitha has worked in health care communications for more than ten years. She is accredited in public relations through the Public Relations Society of America and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communications & Public Relations from Eastern Washington University.
Our September Dinner Meeting, “Hospice 101” will help every Spokane Estate Planning Council member understand what hospice services are and how estate planners can work with their clients who may need hospice care for themselves (or family members) in the future. The discussion will include a detailed discussion of insurance considerations (Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurance and HMOs) including what insurance coverage's exist (or might not exist). SEPC members will receive information on the importance of planning for potential hospice services as part of a well-rounded estate plan.
